For Your Entertainment

So my blog recently has been a little somber. A tad bit serious. Kind of a drag.

Between posts on internet manners (not an oxymoron), being judged by strangers with big butts, and being awkward about contests, you all must be super depressed.

You know, because my blog means so much to all of you that it has the power to set you into a whirlwind of emotional turmoil.

No, I am not going to apologize. As my husband could very well tell you, that doesn't come without at least an hour of angry faces back and forth and a full moon. Combined.

Also, I'm not going to apologize because I don't have to. Serious topics will occasionally find their way on this blog. So just build a bridge and get over it.

But, as a little gift to you my readers, I shall share a picture and common anecdote that occurs in my life. You will either smile for the rest of the night or scoff at your computer screen. Either way.

If you know me in person then you know my dog will no doubt come up in conversation at some point. It is just inevitable.

So, often, either because they're actually curios or they just want me to shut up and stop talking about him, they'll usually ask, "Well what does he look like."

At this point in the conversation I can tell people are nearing the part where they want to be done talking about my dog and start gossiping. (Just because I love awkward moments doesn't mean I'm socially awkward, I can tell when you are over my dog.)

To make things easier for everyone I'll usually decide to just show them a picture I have instead of describing him. Being the awkward person I am, I will take out the phone and will get all confuddled and crack. I get anxious about sifting through all of the photos in my phone in fear of taking too much time, and break and just show the one I have of him set as my background.

Here is why this is an issue:

For all of you who can't quite figure it out:
This is Bruin in a t-Shirt, two scarves, and yes, those are Halloween themed socks.

...ummm...

I mean, it's a plus side that it's not him in like, clothing actually meant for the dog right? I am just not the type person to buy dog clothing.

But I guess I am the type of person to dress my dog up in my clothing, take a picture of it, set it as my background, and then proceed to show it to people as an introduction to my dog?

I don't know.

Either way, without fail I always just show them the background of my phone, there's some awkward laughter and conversation about how I don't normally do this and we move on.

So why would I leave this picture as my background when this situation just occurs over and over I risk social rejection everytime.

Because it is hilarious. I laugh every time I look at my phone and process what is actually going on in my wallpaper.

Laughter + dogs posing in socks with pumpkins and black cats for the camera + awkward social situations =  All things that make me happy.

  1. Well, I have to say that I am as awkward as you when it comes to my dogs, I love them dearly and they are such a HUGE part of my life, that you either take me and love me with them or not! And if you make me choose between you or them, I would probably don't hesitate on my choice (LOL!)

I have to say I absolutely loooove the picture, and any dog that can put up with such "love" from their "momma" is my kind of dog!

Your post made my day happier, thanks!
