Oh, How Pinteresting and Walkabout Wednesday

I was a little all over the place when pinning this week.
And if you follow me on Pinterest I'd like to make sure one thing is clear that might not be due to the nature of my recent pins.
 I AM NOT PREGNANT.
Have I been pinning lots of baby things?
Yes.
I have reasons though.

1. I do want to have babies in a couple of years, and I have a miserable memory. So I don't want them to miss out on what I saw on Pinterest now, but couldn't remember because Mama is a crazy lady.
2. I FEEL LIKE EVERYONE  THAT IS MY AGE IS PREGNANT.
And because of that, they're looking at a lot of baby stuff, therefore, that's what I'm seeing on my Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, and Blog feed. It's just there.
3. One of my best friends just found out she's having a boy. Therefore, it is my responsibility as a future "Auntie" to pin away at everything that I love for him. (And I admit, lots of things I would like for my own future babies too.)

So yeah, there are lots of things this week that had to do with babies.

But one more time, just in case and for good measure.

I AM NOT PREGNANT AND PROBABLY WON'T BE ANYTIME SOON. MY

With that said.
OMG LOOK HOW PERFECT THIS ONSIE IS!!!!!

Am I right?
If it's nautical, I love it.
Like let's just talk about all of these whales on this baby's shirt.

This anchor says, "Take this onesie, put it on a baby, bring that baby to a beach, and have the cutest photo shoot of your life."

And you know what, when it comes to dressing toddlers, when in doubt, dress them like they're going on a fancy yacht and they are the captain.

Now let's talk nursery. My friend is thinking an "Outdoors theme". And because I'm a good friend, I spent an hour on Pinterest looking at nursery themes. Surprise, most of them ended up being nautical. It's fine.

Ok. Out of my system for now.

After Pinning baby stuff I like to remind myself of one of the reasons we are holding off for a few more years.
We are thinking about taking a "big" vacation before creating little humans that are going to try and run our lives for the rest of our existence.

We're talking different continent type vacation. (Which, I've never done.)

Now, we're holding off for a year or so because money, unfortunately, doesn't magically appear in our bank account when we say "Hey, I want  to travel."

So I've been doing a lot of pinning of cheap ways to make that happen and ideas in general.

These links actually have some pretty great suggestions and ideas. A good start to at least getting the juices flowing. And good to keep baby fever away right?

I mentioned in a post this Sunday Dave and I are taking the, "Sugar-Free Challenge". We are not eating any foods with added sugars for two weeks.

So far, it's going pretty well.
Buuuut it wasn't that great of an idea for me to start the challenge this week when I start working my job at a frozen custard stand this weekend!!!! (READ: MOST DELICIOUS ICE CREAM YOU'VE EVER HAD.)

We'll see how my will power holds up with that one. But I have the link to the website we're using as our guide on Pinterest. This features not only the rules we're following, but a lot of the meals/snacks that we have planned out to eat for the rest of the week.

I'll keep you posted on how it goes.

And to wrap this super rando Pinterest post up, I shall leave you with some quotes that I liked this week.

Make sure to comment and let me know you were here so I can check your Blog or Pinterest out.
I'd love to hear what you think about pinning baby things when you're not having a baby, traveling and how to do it on a budget, if you've ever done a sugar-free challenge, or what you think of the quotes.

Comments on how you agree about how nautical themed everything for babies is perfect are also welcome.

Feel free and follow me on Pinterest.

What I'm Loving on this Pinteresting Walkabout Wednesday

So I'm participating in 3 link ups today.

Excessive? Maybe.

But I figure after coming back from a 7 month hiatus yesterday I have some lost time to make up and therefore it is allowed.

First What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm loving that I'm sick on vacation.
Well, not that I'm sick on vacation, but that I'm not sick while I'm in school.
Would I rather be healthy, hanging out with friends, and getting work done for school? Yes.
But, since I'm on vacation I get to snivel and drivel on my own couch and didn't have to make any sub plans to do so. There's only one thing I hate more than being sick, and it's making sub plans.
I know all of those teachers out there feel me.

I'm loving that I survived a 3 day field trip, and I still want to teach.
You read that right: 3 days. 2 nights. A bunch of 7th graders. Still want to go back to my job on Monday. It was a field trip to an ecology school right on the ocean. They had a blast, there weren't really that many problems. On our last day there my colleagues and I were actually starting to plan out 3 field trips for next year.
Call me crazy but...
Nope.
Just call me crazy and call it good.

I'm loving that the weather is starting to actually look like spring! I love me some snow, but it's pretty much been snowing since the last time I posted on my blog. I'm ready for mud season. (Whoops, I meant spring.)

I'm loving that the hubs has been taking awesome care of my pitiful butt. Making soup, getting me water, and overall just listening to me whine. He's a gem.

Oh, How Pinteresting Wednesday
Now for some of my most recent pins.

We've been on a quinoa kick in my household lately.
I've tried the first Quinoa Tabouli recipe and loved it, and am really eager to try the burger recipe with feta and spinach. Mhm!

Found this cool way to play scrabble in the backyard. DYI summer geekery.

Speaking of summer, how cool would it be to have a circle of sunflowers in your backyard? Ultimate hideaway spot!

As far as clothing goes, I've been looking for some summer dresses. This navy/coral combo caught my eye. I think I saw some dresses like this at Old Navy?

How about some bright pink with white. We're allowed to wear white now right?

And this my friends, would be my Friday sweatshirt.

I am in <3 with this compass necklace.

How cute would this sweatshirt be sitting around the campfire? You know I'm already looking forward to relazing around a few of those real soon.

And a little inspirational quote to end your day with!

That's it! If you like my taste in sweatshirts, backyard debauchery, and gluten-free dishes feel free and follow me on Pinterest here.

Make sure to check out the link-ups at the top of this blog.

Also, as mentioned above, my first post after a loooong hiatus was yesterday. I asked some questions at the end about how everyone else keeps regular, any cool blog posts I might have missed within the last few months, and link-ups that you would recommend. You can read that and answer all of those super duper important questions for me by clicking here. Or you know, just scroll down.

Thanks for stopping by. Leave a comment to let me know that you were here!

What I'm Loving/Oh How Pinteresting Wednesday

What I'm Loving

I'm loving that school starts next week and I'm not feeling nearly as stressed as I was going into last year. Whether I should feel stressed or not is a whole other matter, but let's focus on the fact that I'm not stressed.

I'm loving my new white nails. I wanted something a little different so I just went for it. And in my fine opinion I think it makes me look tanner. Because I need to hold onto this tan as looooong as I can.

I'm loving getting my extra paycheck from the custard stand. This month my school district needed to readjust the pay schedule (it happens every 7 years or something) which means I go two weeks without pay at the end of this month instead of the normal one.
This was all fine and well.
Until my car needed $750 in repairs.
BOOOOOOOOOOO.
So my paycheck from the custard stand? While it's not going into savings for future vacations/buying mama new clothes for the next couple of weeks, it's keeping us afloat by buying gas and groceries so the bills can be payed.
Look at me with my adult priorities.

I'm loving the fact that I woke up to a clean living room and kitchen.
That's right, the husband tidied up the house while getting ready to leave the house at 6:20 AM while my but slept in until 730 to find a clean house.
I feel like a queen pretty much on a daily basis.

Speaking of cleaning things....I'm loving that on Sunday night husband and I decluttered our bedroom and bathroom in an hour and a half.
How?
Well in an uncharacteristic swing of motivation I took all of the drawers in the bathroom, every trinket on our dressers, and all of those junk baskets and DUMPED THEM ALL OVER THE LIVING ROOM.
After enlisting Dave's help because I'd just made a huge mess we had all of our baskets and drawers in an hour and a half. We just put on some Keeping Up With The Kardashians and went for it.
Because nothing makes me want to clean my home like watching the Kardashians?

Finally I'm loving that I have two pets instead of just one. I've spent lots of time with Bruin and Linus this summer, and seeing them both play and cuddle with each other makes me feel a little less guilty about leaving them at home when I go back to school next week.

Oh How Pinteresting

My pins are a little varied and random but you'll get over it I promise.

All links to my pins are underneath with the text. Follow me on pinterest here.
Autumn: A Falling Leaf is Summers Wave Goodbye
I'm definitely starting to think about the end of summer and beginning of fall.

Teacher Binder with sections. It is totally worth looking at what she has and copying it all! I aim to someday be this organized!
This is a teacher's organization binder. I've made my own version and am excited to pretend I'm organized.
This doesn't go to a link to buy the bracelet but that doesn't change the fact that I want it.
This sweatshirt from the Vineyard Vines is exactly what I want to wear everyday this fall.

I of course pinned this pouch made by my friend Hayley.

And of course her smaller yellow and gray version.
Speaking of personal pins...
Here the pin of the post I did on Sunday on my "I Love You" Message Boards!!!!
Just crafting my face off.
I'll leave you with some words I've liked. First sentimental, and then ones that make me laugh.
I love it.
The other glasses...
I've probably posted this before but I feel like I need to again.

Every time.
Enjoy your hump day!

What I'm Loving Wednesday/Oh, How Pinteresting Wednesday

It's Wednesday...

You can find these link ups here and here.

Here's What I'm Loving This Wednesday...

I'm loving... that I've officially made it to the beach more times than I did last year...and counting! I'm feeling relaxed and fairly tan!

I'm loving... that I'm working a double today. Okay, not the fact that I'm working a double. But whenever I start to feel bad for myself about working a double I try and remember that I'm doing it to make some extra money. For extra expenses this summer, bills, and all of that shopping I've been doing lately. I do like the extra money. So yeah, let me sugar coat it for myself and say that I'm loving it as a remind that if I wasn't working I would not be ready for the end of the summer!

I'm loving... that the olympics start this weekend. When those start up I am a serious couch potato, cheering on the good old USA in sports that I otherwise probably wouldn't be super interested watching on TV. Can not wait!

I'm loving...how sweet and thoughtful my husband is. Yesterday after he left for work I woke up these.
Nothing special. Just a note and some fresh cut flowers from the back yard. But it's the little things that remind me why I decided to hang out with this guy for a really long time. It's the little things that make our marriage go round.

I'm loving... that I've been finding some awesome deals on clothing. My back to school shopping is almost finished. (Just need to find a nice pair of casual khakis that come in long. Leave a comment if you have a pair you can't live without.) Here are my most recent deals and steals.

At a Van Huesen outlet I got this sweater whose original price was $82. I got it for $25!

And this scarf whose original price was $30. I got it for $8!

Add a comment

There's no photo, but yesterday I got another cardigan from Maurices.
Now they're having this super awesome sale where if you just try on a pair of jeans you get $5 off.  So, the sweater was already in clearance, and I tried on a pair of jeans because this girl ain't stupid. What did I end up paying?
Original price was: $35. I paid $2.50.
I walked out feeling like I stole the sweater from them!

I'm also loving the shirts I have arriving in the mail today from American Eagle!

I'm loving... leftovers. Healthy leftovers that is.
When you work at a frozen custard stand all summer it's hard not to snack on junk food and the frozen custard itself ALL THE TIME. Unfortunately, I've gained the 5 pounds  I lost at the end of the school year back. Maybe even plus some. BLERG!
On the other hand,  the hubby and I have been trying to make healthy dinners all summer that are filling and low fat. So how do I solve my insane munching problem at work to match up my goals at home? Yummy leftovers of course! Today for lunch I'm having some delicious Taboulleh that we made last night! Thanks pinterest for the idea!

Speaking of Pinterest...

Oh, How Pinteresting...

Before I share my favorite pins, yesterday I wrote a post that is the first in a series of a few called "Pins Awkwardly In Real Life".  All of the posts are going to be about me trying out pins that I have done in real life, for better or for worse! My first post in the series is on a recipe for Butternut Squash Lasagna. Check out the post here!

Okay onto my recent favorite pins!

Some food:
A recipe for breakfast cookies. I've made them twice, they are both yummy and hearty.
Stuffed pork loin. Have not tried, but just looking at the photo makes my mouth water!
Some teaching pins since the school year is indeed just around the corner
This teacher has classroom decoration tips and organization ideas. I could sift through this for ages because my classroom needs to get itself organized this fall!

Rubric ideas for journaling.
And a few words that inspired me to move on and be positive about what could be ahead at a time last week that I was feeling a little down.

Here.

Here.

Here.
Thanks for stopping by today. If you'd like to follow me on Pinterest you can find me right here.

Happy Wednesday, and stay fabulous!
