Under Pressure (Dah dun dun dun dada dun dun)

So this is embarrasing.

You know that checklist that I made for myself three weeks ago?

Only a very minuscule amount of that list got done. That's right. I fail at list completion. And apparently using unstructured time wisely.

And what is all of this causing me?

Don't worry, just a touch of anxiety.

Okay, so I'm curled up in my bedroom in fetal position crying for my mother, but I have been feeling nervous.

Nervous enough to keep me up too late the last few days  and to have uh...some uh... stomach issues this past week.

I have always had a hard time with procrastination. (Because there totally wasn't a time when I finished a paper for an online class two months after it was due. Totally never did that....) Hence the reason I've always played a sport and even made the initial decision to join the Rugby team in college: So I had limited time and was forced to use it wisely.

I find my procrastination especially climaxes when my schedule is not structured. Hence, summer to-do lists do not get to-doed and I end up disappointed, stressed, and rubbing my tummy.

So I sit here, on my last Monday morning as a free woman from the rigors of the education world until next summer watching movies adapted for T.V. at 9 A.M. in the morning. I am faced with a decision.

I could continue to sit here and give Bruin belly rubs while I read all of your blogs, (not because he's stressed out too, he just loves the belly rubs) ruminate about how my classroom is a mess, my units are only ideas that aren't completely planned, I am not in the shape I'd like to be for the end of the summer, and those wedding pictures still aren't on the wall.
Or.

I could outta my seat, take Bruin for a run, truck in my classroom with the far too many supplies that I've bought with my own money, get the ipod charged up and blasting through my speakers, and get'erdone.

Who says the last day of summer isn't a great time to start your first day of productivity. What a better time to transition right?

You can find me in my blue room. Just follow the sounds of Lady Gaga and Beyonce singing about how fabulous I am.
